Miami Herald Executive Editor Tom Fiedler dismissed New Times‘ Bob Norman’s theory that KR CEO Tony Ridder had Jim DeFede fired as “fantasy” in a message to his newsroom.
“Normally I would regard responding to a New Times‘ article as being as dumb as standing between a dog and a hydrant,” Fiedler wrote.
“Norman’s grandiose notion that Tony Ridder ordered me to execute his long-festering plot to fire Jim … is nuts,” Fiedler wrote.
