Martin Dyckman, St. Pete Times Legend, Retires

StaffNews

Martin Dyckman, a 46-year veteran of the St. Petersburg Times who exposed scandals at the Florida Supreme Court and at state prisons, will retire this week.

Philip Gailey, editor of editorials, ranked Dyckman along with the Time‘s Lucy Morgan and The Miami Herald‘s Gene Miller as Florida journalism’s “fearless three.” Morgan retired in November. Miller died last year. Dyckman and Miller are the only two journalists who have received the Florida Bar Foundation’s Medal of Honor Award.
