Mike Hoyem, a 16-year veteran of the News-Press in Fort Myers, died March 1 of lung cancer. He was 51.
“The loves of Mike’s life were journalism, golfing and music. Mike was a master of exposing a scam artist, hitting a pinpoint 5-iron to the green or a playing Bob Dylan on his guitar,” said News-Press columnist Sam Cook.
