While most of us are focused on Hurricane Charley, The New York Times’ Bob Herbert is asking questions about an FDLE vote fraud investigation in Orlando that has “frightened many voters, intimidated elderly volunteers and thrown a chill over efforts to get out the black vote in November.”
Officials refused to discuss details of an investigation into alleged voter fraud during the Orlando mayoral election in March, Herbert’s column says.
“The vile smell of voter suppression is all over this so-called investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement,” which Herbert reminds us reports to the President’s brother. “The long and ugly tradition of suppressing the black vote is alive and thriving in the Sunshine State.”
