Zippy News For Time-Challenged Adults

The first edition of tbt, short for Tampa Bay Times, hit the grocery stores, restaurants, gyms and some street corners in black and gold boxes Friday. The St. Petersburg Times publication is aimed at young adults who don’t read the newspaper and features, well, not much news.

The free weekly features Tampa Bay Bucs defensive back Ronde Barber on the cover but no story on Barber inside. Instead, you get a quick Q and A with him and “25 reasons Tampa Bay loves football season” including the food and the beer.

Any news that does find it’s way inside will come “in short chunks with colorful photos and no attempt at serious analysis,” editor Anne Glover said.

Times Publishing officials were pleased with initial ad sales, the paper said.
